Saucebook Terms of Service
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Your recipes are never shared or sold.
These terms are an agreement between you and Emberwing Labs LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we”, “us”). They cover the Saucebook app, getsaucebook.com and the free calculator (together, “Saucebook”). By using Saucebook you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Who can use Saucebook
You must be 18 or older to create a Saucebook account. People 13 or older may join only when an account owner invites them to a household or kitchen, and the owner is responsible for their use. Saucebook is offered only in the United States. If you use Saucebook for a business, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms for it.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details safe and tell us right away if you think someone else is using your account. You're responsible for what happens in your account and in kitchens you own, including the people you invite. Give us accurate information and keep your email current, since that's how we reach you about your account and billing.
Plans, free trials and payment
Saucebook has free plans and paid plans for home and business use. Paid plans are billed monthly, every 6 months or yearly. Prices, limits and features are shown on our pricing page and in the app before you buy. Recipe packs and other add-ons are one-time or recurring purchases as shown when you buy them.
Some paid plans start with a free trial (for example, 7 days for Home plans and 14 days for Business plans). If you don't cancel before the trial ends, your plan starts and you're charged the price shown. Each person or business gets one trial per plan type.
Website purchases are processed by Stripe. Google Play purchases are processed by Google Play under its own billing terms. App Store purchases, if offered, are processed by Apple. We never see your full card number. Prices don't include sales tax, which may be added where required.
Auto-renewal and cancellation
Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price until you cancel. We'll tell you before a price change applies to you.
- Bought on our website: cancel anytime in the app. Your plan stops renewing and stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- Bought through Google Play: cancel in your Google Play subscriptions. Billing and cancellation are handled by Google Play, and we can't cancel it for you.
- Bought through the App Store: cancel in your Apple subscription settings.
Deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play or App Store subscription. Cancel there first. When a plan ends, your account moves to the free plan. Recipes over the free limit are locked until you pick a plan again. They're never deleted, and you can still export everything.
Refunds
Payments are generally non-refundable, and we don't give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong, like a duplicate charge, email support@getsaucebook.com and we'll make it right. Refunds for Google Play and App Store purchases are handled by Google and Apple under their policies.
Your content stays yours
Your recipes, prices, photos, notes and other content belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to store, back up, sync and show your content to you and the people you choose, and to run features you ask for, like AI import and Saucy. We never share or sell your recipes, and we don't use them for advertising. You can export your data and delete your account at any time. Make sure you have the right to anything you upload.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- break the law, or upload content you don't have the right to use;
- harass people, or invite people to a kitchen without a good reason;
- try to get into accounts, kitchens or systems that aren't yours, or test, probe or overload our servers;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer Saucebook, or scrape it or use bots, except as the law allows;
- get around plan limits, fair-use limits or trial rules, for example by creating extra accounts;
- use Saucy or AI import to create harmful, illegal or misleading content.
Saucy and AI features
Saucy and AI import use an outside AI provider to write answers and read recipes. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Costs, prices, food cost percentages, nutrition, substitutions and other numbers from Saucebook and Saucy are estimates. They aren't professional financial, tax, legal, food safety, allergy or medical advice. Check anything important yourself, including allergens and food safety rules, before you rely on it.
Ending your use
You can stop using Saucebook and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other people or Saucebook at risk, or is required to be closed by law. When we can, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data. Sections that by their nature should continue (like your content, disclaimers, limits of liability and governing law) still apply after your account ends.
Disclaimers
Saucebook is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that Saucebook will always be available, error-free or that it will keep your data forever, so keep your own exports of anything important.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Emberwing Labs LLC won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business, arising from your use of Saucebook. Our total liability for any claim about Saucebook is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50. Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you and we agree to those courts’ jurisdiction, except where the law of your state requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we update this page and the effective date. For big changes, we'll tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Saucebook after that, you accept the new terms.
