Saucebook started with a simple question: how much does this dish actually cost to make? Home cooks ask it when they're planning a week of dinners on a budget. Restaurants, caterers, bakers and food trucks ask it every time they set a price.

Most answers live in a spreadsheet or on the back of a receipt. We built Saucebook so they could live with the recipe instead. Save a recipe, add what you paid, and you get the cost per serving, the portion cost and, for businesses, the food cost percentage. Scale it up or down and the numbers follow.

Saucy, our kitchen helper, is there to answer questions, help bring in recipes and keep things friendly.
